Despite his mother’s belief that “boys don’t dance,” Paulus entered into the world of dance age four.’ He went onto study at the prestigious Juilliard Dance Academy and perform on and off Broadway alongside the likes of Merce Cunningham and Martha Graham.

Although Paulus’ art lead him beyond painting to painting and sculpture, he says “I never left dance.”
“(That) is dancing on stage, but what does it mean to dance in life?”

In the last several decades, Paulus has become a devoted student of the Alexander Technique and Qigong.
